Hiplok launches new anti-angle grinder motorcycle lock and locking link

Hiplok has expanded its 1000 Series with a new anti-angle grinder locking link and what it claims is the longest anti-angle grinder D-lock currently available.

Hiplok has expanded its anti-angle grinder security range with two new products aimed at making it easier for riders to secure motorcycles together and to fixed objects.

The new L1000 is described as the world's first anti-angle grinder locking link. Rather than being a lock itself, it's designed to work alongside Hiplok's D1000, DX1000 and new DXL1000 D-locks, increasing their reach without the need for a conventional chain.

That extra length means riders have more options when locking to ground anchors, lamp posts and other street furniture, while it can also be used to link multiple motorcycles together. Hiplok says that when paired with one of its 1000 Series D-locks, the L1000 retains its Sold Secure Powered Cycle Diamond rating.

Alongside it comes the new DXL1000, which Hiplok claims offers the longest internal locking length of any anti-angle grinder D-lock currently on sale. The extra clearance should make it easier to secure larger motorcycles or bikes parked in awkward locations where a conventional D-lock simply won't reach.

According to Hiplok co-founder John Abrahams, both products were developed in response to customer feedback, with riders asking for longer locks capable of securing motorcycles to fixed objects while also reducing the risk of lift-and-roll theft.

The L1000 weighs 1.2kg, measures 200mm x 110mm and is designed to fit inside the DX1000 and DXL1000 for transport. It carries an RRP of £149.99.

The DXL1000 measures 350mm x 180mm externally, with an internal locking area of 270mm x 112mm. It weighs 3.15kg, is available in black or neon yellow and costs £329.99.
