If you’re in the market for a motorcycle that’s been owned by a British TV personality, then the upcoming H&H auction in Solihull is the place for you, as it will feature this rare 1982 Moto Martin CB1100F, formerly of Henry Cole’s private collection.

The auction will take place at the National Motorcycle Museum on July 22, and it will also feature a 2019 Norton Dominator Street that was once owned by Richard Hammond, as well as Allan Millyard’s iconic Viper V10 motorcycle.

Powered by a 1,062cc inline-four engine with an output believed to be around 113 bhp at 8,500rpm, the 1982 Honda CB1100F also produces 72 Ib-ft of torque at 7,500rpm, and is capable of reaching speeds of around 140mph.

While different to Cole’s privately-owned model, series 10 of The Motorbike Show once featured a CB1100F that ended up wearing a Suzuki-inspired livery. This is no great surprise, as it was a well-known fact that Cole was a big admirer of Moto Martin machines.

With 1980s CB1100F machines desired as cafe racer models, Moto Martin effectively became the bridge to making this possible, as the French company specialised in café racer conversions of Hondas and other Japanese bikes.

Other must-know details about the bike include its overall condition, which is said to be “excellent”, according to H&H Classics Auction. The bike also has an odometer reading of 25,800 miles, while its V5C document will be included in the sale.

Now, aside from the bike’s performance figures and history, there’s something else that’s interesting about this particular model. You see, Cole’s former machine has already been made available for sale this year. On that occasion, it was Car and Classic that listed the bike for sale back in February, but it is unclear whether the bike has been run since then.

You can find out more about the auction’s listing, including Cole’s former Moto Martin machine, on the official H&H Classics Auction website.
