First Look: 2009 KTM400 EXC

Visordown gets the first shot of KTM's new four-stroke blaster

A resdesigned motor is a key part of the new 400

HERE'S THE first picture of the all-new KTM 400 EXC. Using its motocross sibling's short-stroke motor for a more responsiveness and more power. The bike also features a new camshaft, titanium intake valves and a cylinder head cover made from lightweight magnesium.

According to the factory, the bike will ape the engine delivery and rideability of the motocross bikes in the range, but will still be as accommodating as usual for long day-riding or competitive enduros.
The bike also gets a new hot-start system which, so the factory claims, is meant to make getting the bike started after a fall much easier than it was before.

There are no details on availability or price for this 2009 model yet.
