Dream ‘bike tester’ job up for grabs

WANT to ride motorbikes and get paid for it? No, there’s not another job going at Visordown…

But this is even better.

WMB Logistics has posted a job advert, looking for an ‘official bike tester’ to put hundreds of miles on the latest motorcycles before they hit the showrooms.

The role involves spending one day a week riding various models on 100-plus mile routes through the Cotsworlds from WMB’s Gloucester base, all the while assessing whether anything needs adjusting.

On return, the successful candidate will pass their findings to the inhouse technician, before mucking in to clean the bikes – there’s the catch!

But the good news is that they’ll get paid to do it. The job is advertised with a salary of £27,000 pro rata – which we equate to about £5,000 per year. Not bad for a day’s work per week!

Of course, WMB has issued a strict candidate criteria list. Applicants must be above 21, have a passion for bikes and have held a full category A motorbike licence, with no points, for a minimum of 12 months. Ok, so maybe not that strict… The winning candidate will need to be able to travel to Gloucester one day – of their choosing – a week.

To apply, riders need to complete a form on WMB’s website, and in 100 words or less, explain why they are perfect for the job. No pressure…
