Charlie Boorman and Compass Expeditions have launched an epic Australian adventure, giving you the chance to ride from Melbourne to Sydney cutting across Tasmania along the way.

The tour is taking place in November this year (which is springtime in the southern hemisphere) and lasts for eleven days, covering around 1,800 miles and is fully ridden on asphalt with no dirt riding.

The ride begins with a short hop on a ferry, taking you from Melbourne to Tasmania, and here the ride will head east toward the Freycinet National Park and Coles Bay. From there the ride will take in Port Arthur, the Tasmanian capital of Hobart, the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, and the pretty seaside port of Strahan. Crossing the Tasman back into Victoria, the ride ventures into the Victorian High Country entering Kosciusko National Park in NSW before riding down onto the coast and riding north finishing in Sydney.

The trip includes airport transfers, bike rental (if not taking your own, which would be tricky for us in the UK!), GPS hire, accommodation, breakfast and dinner, and entrance into the national parks along the way - and, of course having Mr Boorman as your lead rider. You would, though, have to pay for your own your own international flights, fuel, visas, lunches and personal travel insurance.

The price for the trip is fairly hefty coming in at £5,185, although the once-in-a-lifetime nature of the event might make that amount seem inconsequential.
