AN EXPERIENCED racer and mechanic was killed while taking part at a trackday at Cadwell Park on Tuesday.
Mark Ward, 45, from Nottinghamshire was involved in a collision with another rider at the Lincolnshire circuit. Mr Ward was airlifted to Lincoln Hospital but died from the injuries sustained in the accident later that day. The other rider, a 32-year-old man, escaped with minor injuries.
Mr Ward was an experienced racer, having competed at National level. He was also a competent motorcycle technician, running his own motorcycle servicing business in Nottinghamshire.
Police say the coroner has been informed of the incident and an inquest is to follow.
