Ducati Desmo450 Claims First Ever MXGP Podium in Switzerland
Jeremy Seewer has given Ducati its first ever MXGP podium aboard the new Desmo450 MX machine

Ducati has sealed its first MXGP podium thanks to Jeremy Seewer, who took the new Desmo450 MX to third place in his home round.
The new Desmo450, which debuted in domestic racing in 2024, made its full world championship debut in 2025 earlier this year before the Italian brand confirmed that the bike would be arriving in dealerships this summer for the general public to buy.
But after several difficult rounds, the latest MXGP event in Switzerland saw Ducati make a breakthrough as Seewer managed to take the bike to seventh place in race one before achieving a brilliant podium finish in race two.
The podium finish was made even more unlikely at the start of the race when he was pushed wide and struck by a flying stone, which caused him to lose feeling in his leg.
The incident dropped Seewer down to eighth, however, the 30-year-old fought his way back up to fourth before taking over third spot on the final lap.

Seewer said: "It’s insane - Ducati’s first podium is huge! We worked so hard, starting from zero, and these guys have reached such a high level. It’s amazing! And to do it here at home, my first MXGP podium on Swiss soil, with all these fans and in this beautiful weather - I think it’s the best day of my life!
“The second moto didn’t start well for me. I got hit by a rock in the leg and lost all feeling for over a lap, so I dropped back, but then the race came to me. I’m so happy, and I want to thank everyone at Ducati!"
Regarding availability of the new Desmo450 in the UK, a total of seven showrooms will be taking on distribution and servicing of the bikes. The dealerships taking on the bike are Ducati Cambridge, Ducati Leeds, Ducati Preston, Ducati North London, Chris Walker Motorcycles, GT Motorcycles and Millsport Motorcycles. The RRP for the Desmo450 MX is £11,245.
