The ADV market has been booming in recent years, and a new adventure bike is coming with the Brixton Storr 500.

The Storr 500 has already hit the Chinese market and looks very similar to the Husqvarna Norden 901 in style, which is another example of Chinese brands finding inspiration from the so-called ‘bigger manufacturers’. Brixton is also said to be working on a flagship adventure bike based on the new Storr motorcycle. It will be a more premium model and is expected to be powered by the same 1200cc parallel-twin engine that’s in the Brixton Cromwell 1200, which is a bike that’s eerily similar to the Triumph Bonneville T120.

But that’s not to say it doesn’t possess some distinctive features, because the Storr 500 has fancier body panels compared to a bike which is considered direct competition, that being the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. Other differences include a large fuel tank and the fairing panel that connects the tank with the headlamp.

Under the bodywork, the Brixton Storr 500 consists of a tubular steel frame and a separate sub-frame. It rides on 19/17-inch tubeless wire-spoke wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. Along with the Himalayan 450, think of the Honda NX500 as a bike that the Storr 500 will be competing against. Its power output results in a maximum of 47bhp at 8,500rpm and 31Ib ft of peak torque at 6,700rpm.

The Storr 500 has long been overdue after first appearing at the EICMA in 2022. But the bike never hit the market and there’s a good reason for that. Brixton, a brand that is owned by KSR Group ran into financial difficulties and even underwent court supervised restructuring as part of its attempts to get back on track.

But with those financial wobbles behind them, the Storr 500 looks set to be getting its long overdue release overseas, as it's already gone through production and available to buy in China.
