The Vintage Motorcycle Club (VMCC) is gearing up for one of its biggest events of the year, as the hugely popular Banbury Run looks set to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

The event is taking place on Sunday, June 8, with bikes departing from the British Motor Museum, Gaydon, on a route which will see them threading through some of the most beautiful parts of Warwickshire. The tour also takes in the famous, and daunting, if you're riding an ancient machine, Sun Rising Hill, which is around 900 metres in length and includes sections with a gradient of up to 15 per cent.

All the motorcycles will be on display at Gaydon before and after the run, and the museum is open all day. For those who love nothing more than to delve through boxes of rusty gold, there is a classic motorcycle autojumble, and there are static motorcycle displays from a number of clubs taking place at the event. Outside the museum, though, the absolute best place to see the action is the aformentioned Sun Rising Hill on the A422 near Tysoe.

For those that want to make a weekend of it, camping is available on site at Gaydon - Admission and camping tickets can be bought on the day, but are available at a discount if booked in advance at the British Motor Museum.

Entry is open only to VMCC Members, with motorcycles and three-wheelers built up to 31st December 1930. Non-members can join and enter at the same time at a discounted rate.

You can find out more information on the event on the official website.
