Gang of youths steal delivery rider’s bike

A VIDEO has emerged on Facebook showing a large gang of teenagers surrounding a fast-food delivery rider, attacking him and trying to make of with the delivery bike he was using.

The video, shot in East Ham, only last for a few minutes but clearly shows how powerful the mob-mentality is within the group when after they have stolen the scooter, they later turn their attention to a council employed street cleaner.

The video, which of reasonable quality, makes distinguishing the faces of those involved fairly easy but sadly the police claim they are yet to make any arrests in the incident.

The Met police statement reads:

‘Police are aware of social media footage of the robbery of a delivery driver.

The incident was reported to police at about 19:15hrs on Saturday, 15 June.

A crowd of young people approached and robbed a delivery driver on a motor scooter in Napier Road, East Ham, E6.

The driver, a man in his mid-40s, had his bike and phone stolen, the driver received minor injuries.

No arrests have been made in connection with this robbery. Enquiries into the exact circumstances continue.

We aren’t interested in glorifying the perpetrators of this crime, nor are we trying to scare motorcyclists out of London – we simply hope that increased awareness of the post might make those involved easier to catch.
