Ten Kate Racing confirms World Superbike return with Baz, Yamaha

Ten Kate Racing has confirmed it will return to the World Superbike championship this year with Loris Baz as rider and run Yamaha machinery.

The iconic Dutch squad have been absent from the grid since splitting with Honda at the end of last year but following the 11th-hour separation the team had to declare bankruptcy which forced it to miss the start of the 2019 campaign.

Having settled on a financial agreement with Honda, paddock rumours pointed to Ten Kate Racing partnering up with Yamaha and Loris Baz which was officially confirmed in a press conference at Assen promoting the World Superbike round in two weeks’ time (April 13-14).

The team also confirmed it will return to the grid at either the Italian or Spanish round, Imola (May 10-12) or Jerez (June 7-9) once it can secure a testing programme in preparation for its racing comeback.
