Injured Camier out of Imola WorldSBK round
Leon Camier is hospitalised following a fall in WorldSBK Superpole at Imola
Leon Camier will take no further part in this weekend’s World Superbike Championship round at Imola after a crash in Superpole hospitalised him.
The Briton came off at Turn 3 in an incident also involving Sandro Cortese, but while the German remounted to continue the session, Camier was forced out of the session with no time set.
It has now been confirmed that the Moriwaki Althea Honda man is unfit to ride for the remainder of Imola weekend and is being taken to hospital where he will be assessed further.
Camier is the second WorldSBK rider to be forced out of the event after Eugene Laverty fractured both wrists in a crash on Friday. Though the Irishman has been replaced by Tommy Bridewell, Camier’s withdrawal reduces the entry to 18 bikes.
