Cummins determined to make TT return in 2011

Popular racer aims to silence critics after near-fatal crash in 2010 TT

CONOR CUMMINS has said he is determined to be back at the 2011 Isle of Man TT races following the rider's near-fatal crash in the 2010 event.

Cummins, 24, suffered serious life-threatening injuries after crashing at high-speed at one of the fastest parts of the TT course on the last lap of the 2010 Senior event.

Speaking to BBC News, Cummins said he's determined to silence critics by getting back to racing as soon as possible, despite suffering serious nerve damage in the crash.

"If it means blood sweat and tears I don't mind, it's got to be done hasn't it?" said Cummins, who's aiming for victory in next year's event.

The racer suffered a serious back fracture, broken arm and a badly dislocated knee when he crashed at the Verandah section of the 37.73-mile course.
