Hutchinson suffers broken leg in first lap drama at Silverstone BSS

TT LEGEND Ian Hutchinson - winner of a record five races at the 2010 TT - is out of the remainder of this year's British Supersport Championship after a first lap crash at Silverstone.

Hutchinson came off worst in an opening lap melee, which saw a number of riders crash out of the race in slippery, low visibility conditions.

The star of the 2010 TT fell on the first corner and was clipped by another machine. The race was subsequently red-flagged while medics attended to Hutchinson, who lay mid-track.

The Padgetts Honda rider was air-lifted to hospital, where he was later diagnosed with a compound fracture to the tibia and fibula in his left leg.
