Like a lot of things that have landed in the UK from across the pond, Black Friday is here to stay. And despite how it might sound, it isn’t just a single day, either - although technically being on 29 November this year, various retailers have already started discounting.
This isn’t just about wrestling someone in Asda for a no-brand widescreen TV, either - there are stacks of great deals on motorcycle products you can buy without leaving your sofa.
We’ve had a scour of the web and come up with a selection for your perusal.

Cardo Packtalk Edge Duo

Quad Lock handlebar phone mount
Sticking with the touring theme, you’ll need to think about navigation. One option is a Quad Lock handlebar mount, which is currently available via Infinity Motorcycle on a Black Friday deal, as is the vibration damper, which we’d strongly recommend to protect your phone. You’ll also need either a Quad Lock case for your phone or a Quad Lock mount sticky pad to put on the back of an existing case.
Tom Tom motorcycle sat nav
If you want to take things further, you could buy a specific motorcycle sat-nav. While there isn’t as much need for a standalone nav system in a car, it’s still worthwhile on a bike, particularly when units like this Tom Tom Rider 500 has features like routing which favours twisty roads!
TruTrac tracker
Sadly, motorcycle theft remains a massive problem in the UK, but there are ways to protect yourself, including a tracker. Fitting a tracker like the TruTrack FMT100 is your best chance of seeing your pride and joy should it get taken, with high recovery rates for bikes fitted with such devices. It’s easy to fit and costs £4.72 a month to operate and the 14-day trial period ends.
Abus Ivy Chain
Physical security measures are also worth considering, particularly when you can get something at a big discount like this Abus Ivy Chain. It’s small and light enough that it shouldn’t be a hassle to carry, but thanks to 10-inch thick chain links, it’s beefy enough to deter plenty of would-be thieves.
RST Sabre textile airbag jacket
We’re big fans of the RST Sabre textile airbag jacket, having tested one for many months and thousands of miles. It’s well-made, looks stylish and is AAA-rated. Factor in the airbag (which, do bear in mind, requires a subscription), and you have the makings of a great jacket that’ll help reduce injury should the worst happen. J&S is currently offering the jacket with a whopping 50 per cent off.
Triumph Alder Gore-Tex jacket
For a very different kind of jacket, we have this Triumph-branded Alder Gore-Tex jacket. Sizing is a little limited (larger sizes are sold out), but a Gore-Tex jacket for £260 - down from £650 - seemed worthy of a mention.
Arai Rapide
The introduction of ECE 22.06 helmet regulations means there are loads of lids still in stock that comply with the older 22.05 rules that retailers need to shift. While missing out on things like improved glancing-off protection, these are still very safe helmets, and heavy discounts mean you could get a fancier lid than initially anticipated. Infinity Motorcycles for instance has the Arai Rapide - predecessor of the Concept XE - in a variety of colourways for just £299, only a little more than half the RRP.
KTM 1290 Super Duke GT
Yes, there are even actual motorcycles on Black Friday offers. Unsurprisingly given that KTM has an over-abundance of stock, you’ll find many bikes from the Austrian brand with heavy discounts. This 24-plate 1290 Super Duke GT has over £4,000 knocked off the price. Yes, it’s just been superseded by the 1390 Super Duke GT, but that’s too big a discount to ignore.
Castrol motorcycle oil
If you’re a fair-weather rider (we’re not judging - riding over winter can be minging), this time of year is ideal for fettling. And if your bike needs some servicing, there are great deals to be had on oils, including this four-litre bottle of Castol Power1 4T 10W-40.
