Suzuki GB has announced pricing for its highly anticipated GSX-R1000R 40th Anniversary Edition model.

The bike was first announced back in August, surprising and delighting many who had feared that Suzuki had put the iconic model out to pasture. Now we know that when it arrives in dealerships in spring 2026, it will have a starting price of £17,599.

The bike marks 40 years since the GSX-R platform was first introduced – changing the way we think about motorcycles and creating a cult-like following among a certain segment of riders.

“The new GSX-R1000R gets an updated engine, with modifications that include a new crankshaft, crankcases, pistons, connecting rods, and a higher compression ratio,” explains Suzuki. “The MotoGP-derived variable valve timing system remains.”

You also get updated electronics, fancy winglets (of course) and a new exhaust. Suzuki says all of these changes result in “a higher performance ceiling.”

Elsewhere, you have a suite of rider aids, including cornering ABS and traction control, a bidirectional quickshifter, power modes and launch control.

Suzuki thinks this bike is kind of a big deal, and you can see it in person at this year’s MCL25, along with a display honouring the history and legacy of the GSX-R platform (Suzuki’s stand is located in hall 3A).
