Kawasaki announce updated ZX-6R Ninja for 2019

THINK OF the best supersport machinery and Kawasaki's Ninja range is never far down your list. And now, for 2019 Kawasaki hopes it's taken its 600-class machine to the next level, with enough bells and whistles to keep both trackday heroes and daily drivers happy.

Utilising Kawasaki’s much-loved 636cc inline-four engine, the latest Ninja now boasts a KQS quick-shifter (for up shifts only) which links to a new display that shows how economically you’re riding plus fuel gauge and remaining range. In addition to that there is a slipper clutch and a 12V power take-off for electrical accessories – good news for all you sporty commuters out there. For 2019 the ZX-6R also boasts intelligent anti-lock braking system (KIBS) and two-stage power modes.

Track day fans will appreciate the adjustable Showa BFF separate function forks, adjustable shift light, monobloc calipers and large front disc rotors plus Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres as standard fit along with optional accessories such as Öhlins steering damper, axle sliders and colour coded pillion seat cover.

Expect to see more of the new Ninja 636 at the upcoming EICMA show in November – Visordown will be on hand to bring you all the details and a walk around on the day.
