GasGas, Husqvarna, follow KTM with 3kW electric dirt bikes

GasGas and Husqvarna have both launched their respective 3kW electric mini-dirt-bikes, following the recent launch of KTM's model.

2023 GasGas MC-E 3

GasGas and Husqvarna have both launched their respective 3kW electric off-road minibikes, with the EE 3 for the Swedes, and the MC-E 3 for the Spanish brand.

The two 3kW models (strictly, they produce 3.8kW of peak power) are designed to plug the gap between the respective brands’ balance bikes, and their 5kW mini-dirt-bikes.

Of course, the differences between the EE 3 and MC-E 3 lie solely in the aesthetics. The same can be said about both bikes in relation to the recently revealed KTM SX-E 3. All are part of KTM AG and the Pierer Mobility Group, of course, and so share technological and engineering solutions.

We have seen it a lot already, of course, not least with the larger dirt bikes of each brand. The KTM SX-F 450, Husqvarna FC 450, and GasGas MC 450F, for example, are all essentially the same motorcycle beneath the different-coloured plastics.

So, it will come as little surprise to know that the KTM SX-E 3 specs that were revealed a couple of days ago are also applicable to the newly-revealed GasGas MC-E 3 and Husqvarna EE 3.

That means that the 0.658kWh battery will guarantee a two-hour ride time between charges, and the external charger will take the battery from empty to full in 70 minutes.

Additionally, both the Husqvarna and GasGas are equipped with 35mm WP XACT forks that provide 144mm of wheel travel. At the rear, a WP shock provides 133mm of wheel travel.

Also like the the SX-E 3, the sea height of both the EE 3 and MC-E 3 can be adjusted between 600mm and 555mm.

Finally, the EE 3 and MC-E 3 both come with the same safety measures as the SX-E 3, meaning the motor will be cut in the case of a crash thanks to a roll-over sensor, and a lanyard key will help prevent unexpected situations from getting out of control.

The KTM SX-E 3 and Husqvarna EE 3 are both listed on the respective brands’ websites at £3,920. There is not a price listed for the MC-E 3 on the GasGas page, but it would seem fair to assume that the price would be comparable.
