Montesa has rolled out its updated range for 2026, slimming the family down to three core models, the Cota 4RT 301RR, the Cota 4RT 260R, and the 4Ride. The Race Replica version of the 301RR has been quietly dropped, but in its place come new graphics, updates to the versatile 4Ride, and a fresh batch of accessories.

Still the jewel in Montesa’s crown, the Cota 4RT 301RR stays true to its role as the flagship trials weapon. For 2026 it gets a bold splash of colour, with turquoise, magenta, and white now splashed across its bodywork, giving it a look that’s as eye-catching as it is unmistakably Montesa.

Underneath, little has changed, which is no bad thing. The 298cc four-stroke remains a direct descendant of the Trial2 World Championship machine, backed up by high-end kit like the machined fork triple clamp, aluminium frame and muffler, wave brakes, and carbon fibre protection. It’s still very much a thoroughbred competition bike.

Positioned as the people’s trials bike, the Cota 4RT 260R continues to bridge the gap between pro-level performance and accessible fun. The chassis and suspension remain unchanged, meaning Showa suspension, an aluminium frame, and a competition-bred feel carry over into the new season.

The main difference comes in the paint. The 260R mirrors the 301RR’s sharp new design, but sticks to the tried-and-true Montesa palette of red, black, and white. It’s a colour scheme that feels timeless, while still carrying that racing DNA.

If the Cotas are about pure competition, the 4Ride is about versatility, and for 2026 Montesa has given it a meaningful makeover. Euro5+ compliance is ticked off thanks to a new exhaust and aluminium muffler borrowed from its Cota cousins. A side stand now comes fitted as standard too, something that might sound small, but makes a big difference when you’re riding for fun rather than fighting for tenths.

The visual treatment is equally striking. A new black-and-white paint job with golden detailing and anodised rims means the 4Ride now looks as premium as it feels. Comfortable, durable, and capable of tackling everything from trails to gentle trials, it remains the Swiss Army knife of Montesa’s range.

Every Montesa rolling out for 2026 will be built in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, just outside Barcelona. Engines, plastics, aluminium frames, fuel tanks, and even swingarms are all produced in-house at Montesa Honda’s factory, a setup that is said to guarantee consistency, reliability, and quality control.

Finally, Montesa has also announced a new line of official accessories for the Cota and 4Ride models. Mats, paddock stands, seats, and protective covers are all available now, each finished in black and red to match the brand’s sporting spirit.

Montesa says more accessories are in the pipeline too, meaning owners will soon have even more ways to tailor their bikes, whether for performance, practicality, or just a bit of garage bling.

You can check out the bike for yourself on the official website.
