Jonny Walker to make surprise EnduroGP return at Triumph's home round in Wales
Triumph Factory Racing's Jonny Walker will race the final EnduroGP round of 2026 in Wales, making a wildcard appearance aboard the TF 450-E.
Triumph Factory Racing's Jonny Walker will return to timecard enduro for the first time in years after confirming a wildcard ride at the final round of the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship in Wales.
The British rider will line up in the Enduro2 class aboard the Triumph TF 450-E at Rhayader on August 7-9, joining Triumph's EnduroGP squad for what will be the factory bike's first appearance in the championship.
Walker heads to Wales in strong form, having enjoyed a successful SuperEnduro campaign over the winter, while he is also tackling this week's Red Bull Romaniacs aboard the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro. As part of his preparation for the EnduroGP outing, he has also contested several sprint enduro events in Wales.
Although best known in recent years for his exploits in hard enduro and SuperEnduro, Walker has strong roots in traditional enduro. Earlier in his career he competed in both the British and European Enduro Championships, and represented Great Britain in the Junior Trophy Team at the 2011 International Six Days Enduro.
His return to the discipline will see him race alongside Triumph's full-time EnduroGP riders for one weekend only, taking on what is expected to be a competitive Enduro2 field. His SuperEnduro experience could prove particularly useful in Friday evening's Super Test before the event moves into two full days of special tests across the Welsh countryside.
Walker said he was looking forward to returning to timecard enduro after several years away, describing the event as a chance to revisit a discipline he has always enjoyed. He also highlighted the opportunity to race the TF 450-E in front of a home crowd and suggested the Super Test should suit his riding style.
Triumph's Head of Global Racing Programmes, Ian Kimber, said hosting the EnduroGP finale in the UK was a significant occasion for the manufacturer. He added that Walker's impressive form this season, combined with his eagerness to race in Wales and the preparation he has already put in, made the wildcard appearance an ideal opportunity to see what he could achieve aboard the TF 450-E.
The GP of Wales marks the seventh and final round of the 2026 EnduroGP World Championship, with the action beginning with Friday's Super Test before two full days of racing over the weekend.
