The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT went on sale only in April of 2022, but despite that sold 781 units to end the year on-top in the sports touring category. Further, 1,000 sales are anticipated by the end of March, which would also mark the end of the GSX-S1000GT’s first 12 months on-sale.
Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said: “Of course, we’re delighted with the popularity and success of the GSX-S1000GT. It was launched to high praise in the autumn of 2021, and we were seeing a huge number of reservations and orders before the bike had even arrived in dealerships.
“Despite that, and though it presented challenges, we managed to keep up with demand and we’re on course to top 1,000 sales by the end of its first year on sale, which is a fantastic achievement and something we’re all pleased with and proud of.”
The Suzuki GSX-S1000GT features a 150-horsepower 1000cc engine, also producing a maximum of 106Nm of torque.
It also features a two-way quickshifter, slipper clutch and a five-level traction control system as well as three power settings. Further, the bike features cruise control and a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display.
On the chassis side of things, there is a twin-spar aluminium frame, while KYB supplies an adjustable rear shock and front forks, and the swingarm is superbike-derived.
The standard GSX-S1000GT is available from Suzuki dealers from £12,499, while the GSX-S1000GT+ costs £13,599 and comes with two 36-litre panniers as standard.
Additionally, there are PCP finance options, meaning a £2,641.55 deposit can allow you to ride away from the dealer on a Suzuki GSX-S1000GT for £149 per month.
