Hypermotard 698 Mono RVE voted ‘Most beautiful bike’ at EICMA

The new single-cylinder Ducati has been making big waves since its announcement, mainly thanks to its first-of-its-kind powerplant, but also because of its easy-on-the-eye appearance

Ducati has scooped the two-wheeled equivalent of winning a ‘Bonniest Baby’ competition at the recent EICMA show, as its new Hypermotard 698 RVE wins best in show.

In fairness, it's the bike’s technical specification that is really whetting our appetite, and the question marks that remain around what a single-cylinder, Desmo’ equipped engine is going to feel like. EICMA though is in Italy, and Italy is all about the aesthetics, which has led to Ducati’s latest supermoto being branded the “Moto più bella” - the most beautiful bike of EICMA 2023.

The prize was awarded via a competition that was running for the duration of the show, in which people voted for the most beautiful bike of the 2023 edition of EICMA, only to be then in with a chance of winning the bike that gained the most votes. The collection of the award took place on the final day of the show, Sunday 12th November. Poignantly it was this day that Ducati sealed a dream day in MotoGP, looking out the podium at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia with Enea Bastianini, Alex Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia.

The competition for the best-looking bike of the show has been running since 2005, and is partly organised by the Italian magazine Motociclismo. In this year's vote the new Hypermotard took the top spot with more than 35 per cent of the votes, and in total over 25,000 people took part, voting both in person at the show, and online.
