Honda suspends motorcycle production in Bangkok

Political turmoil prompts Big H halt work at Thai plant

HONDA has suspended motorcycle production at a Thailand factory due to the violent political turmoil in Bangkok, the company has announced.

"We suspended operation of one plant manufacturing cars and another for motorcycles in Thailand today," a Honda spokeswoman said, following a six-week protest by anti-government demonstrators.

"We'll decide whether to operate our business on a day-by-day basis, watching the changing situation there," she said.

Honda has a small motorcycle plant in a suburb of Bangkok.
