Honda sold 16.8 million motorcycles in 2013

With 1.35 million motorcycles sales in China alone

HONDA had a strong 2013, reporting an 8.7% rise in global motorcycles sales.

Sales in Asia and Oceania have helped boost Honda's outlook, with Honda selling 12.96 million motorcycles in 2013, a rise of over 10.7% from sales of 11.7 million motorcycles in 2012.

However, sales dropped in Japan, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Honda sold 219,000 motorcycles in Japan in 2013, down from 221,000 in 2012. Although you might think that Europe, the Middle East and Africa would generate huge sales numbers for Honda, sales dropped 5.2% to 323,000 from 341,000 in 2012.

Manufacturers like Triumph, Harley-Davidson and KTM have all established roots in Asia and announced new smaller capacity models in order to capitalise on the growing demand for 'premium brand' motorcycles.
