Bajaj bike sales up 78 per cent in Feb 2010

India's motorcycle industry on a roll as key manufacturer sells 234,623 machines in a month

INDIAN MOTORCYCLE manufacturer Bajaj has plenty to celebrate at the start of the year, with reported sales of 234,623 motorcycles in February 2010.

The figure shows a whopping 78 per cent growth compared to 131,785 motorcycles sold by the company in February 2009. In response to continuing strong demand, Bajaj is expanding its motorcycle production capacity to 300,000 units per month by April 2010.

In comparison, 3,567 two-wheelers were registered in the UK in January 2010.
