Surgeons re-attach biker's foot

Warning: don't open if you're squeamish

Hope he wasn't wearing trainers...

SPANISH SURGEONS have re-attached a biker's foot after it was ripped from his leg in a motorcycle accident.

The 36-year-old biker lost his foot when in collision with the upright to a crash barrier. The man's foot was
put back in place by the top surgeon Pedro Cavadas in an operation carried out on Tuesday in the Virgen del Consuelo clinic in Valencia.

He described the operation as ‘very complicated’ and said most surgeons did not carry it out as prosthetic feet were generally more effective. However he said his team was specialist in both feet and legs.

The patient is reported to be doing well.
