Pakistani motorcyclist Zenith Irfan celebrated in new film

ZENITH IRFAN, who made history in August 2015 as the first female Pakistani motorcyclist to ride through the northern terrains of the country, is to be celebrated in a new biopic.

Irfan, aka The Motorcycle Girl, took on the epic journey following her father’s premature death. It had been an ambition of his to leave Pakistan and ride around the world and as his oldest child she felt obliged to take on the challenge.

Aboard a 150cc Suzuki she rode 3,200 kilometres from her home of Lahore in North East Pakistan, through Northern Pakistan and up to the Khunjerab on the Chinese border, crossing the Himalayas and experiencing the true diversity of her country along the way.

The film, which focuses on the bond between Irfan and her father, was written and directed by Adnan Sarwar, and co-produced by Jami under his banner Azadfilm Company.

It is due to be released in Pakistan in April, and we’re hoping it will find its way to British screens soon after!
