Furygan has launched its first motorcycle airbag specifically designed for women, with the new Fury Airbag Lady developed around feedback and fitting sessions with female riders.

The French protection specialist says the aim was to create an airbag that avoids the compromises between protection, comfort and fit that can come with adapting a more generic design to different body shapes.

The Airbag Lady uses a female-specific fit, with ultra-stretchable side panels intended to accommodate different body shapes. It is also Furygan’s lightest airbag system and uses a combination of mesh and airmesh materials for what the company claims is 100 per cent ventilation.

It can be used across different types of riding, with five detection modes available: Road, Track, Adventure, Motocross and Adventure Race. That allows the same airbag to be configured for different riding environments rather than being restricted to road use.

As with Furygan’s other airbag products, the Airbag Lady uses In&Motion’s smart, self-learning technology. The system is claimed to detect a crash and trigger in less than 0.06 seconds, inflating to protect the neck, chest, abdomen and spine.

The system is also designed to be relatively straightforward to maintain. Riders can replace the inflator themselves after deployment, while the airbag can be triggered up to five times before the bladder itself needs replacing.

The Fury Airbag Lady is compatible with all motorcycle jackets and will be offered in Black/Emerald Green. Sizes run from S to 2XL, with a recommended retail price of £369.99.
