Ducati Desmo450 SM supermoto concept model breaks cover at World Ducati Week

World Ducati Week 2026 has offered a first look at the all-new Desmo450 SM, which is set to be revealed in September.

Ducati has set the stage for an all-new Desmo450 supermoto, after using its 100th birthday celebration to showcase a pre-production model.

The new supermotard, which will be the first of its kind from Ducati, was presented on stage as part of its centenary celebrations at World Ducati Week in Misano. The pre-production model made its on-stage debut on Saturday, July 4, with the bike’s full details and specification set to be revealed in September.

Ducati clearly believes that its Desmo range is set to play an important role in the company’s future, after it already launched the new Desmo250 MX and Desmo450 Enduro models in June. These two bikes will soon be joined by the supermoto variant, taking the Desmo range to five models, as the line-up also features the Desmo450 MX, which arrived as the brand’s first motocross model, and the Desmo450 MX Factory.

While Ducati gave little away about the new machine during its 100th birthday celebrations, it did say that the bike has been pre-approved by supermoto world champion, Marc Reiner Schmidt.

Ducati’s statement on social media said:

“Exclusive look at Ducati’s first ever racing Supermotard – Desmo450 SM, unveiled at World Ducati Week 2026. Desmo450 SM has been purpose-built for this discipline and is pre-approved by four-time world champion Marc Reiner Schmidt, straight from its first competitive outings. It will feature dedicated brakes, suspension, engine components, and specific bodywork. With the official debut expected in September 2026, all technical specifications will be revealed soon.”

The pre-production model was one of the highlights from Ducati’s action-packed programme, which also included the public presentation of the limited-edition Superleggera V4 Centenario.

Ducati also showcased its new Collezione 100, which features a total of ten limited-edition models, including Panigale V4 and V2 bikes, Multistrada, Monster, and Diavel motorcycles, among others.
