The 2025 Harley-Davidson ‘International Technician of the Year’ award has been won by Maidstone-based Dean Pearman.

The competition was open to Harley-Davidson technicians from around the world, with Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa all represented.

The international competition is designed to celebrate the best-performing technicians from within its dealer network. But it was Pearson from Maidstone Harley-Davidson who was ultimately victorious after completing three individual challenges.

The three stages of competition tested each technician’s technical ability, innovation and commitment to the American brand’s service standards.

Round one saw participants tasked with an online simulator activity, which was then followed by an online knowledge test. Round 3 included an in-person skills assessment test which took place at an authorised Harley-Davidson facility.

Kolja Rebstock, Senior Vice President of Harley-Davidson’s International Markets, said this about the international competition:

“This award recognises and honours the heartbeat of our dealerships: our technicians. Every day, these individuals make sure our riders’ journeys are safer and smoother. In many ways, technicians are the unsung heroes of our dealerships, and we want to recognise not just their achievements, but their spirit of continuous learning and innovation.”

Pearman is the second Brit to win an award of this nature, after Yamaha UK technician Liam Coffey was recently crowned World Champion at the Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix in Iwata, Japan.
