THE Olympic flame was delayed in Essex after two motorcyclists crashed into each other.

The two motorcyclists, a man and woman, who police believe know each other, collided with each other as the torch convoy vehicles were approaching from the opposite direction.

The convoy halted and the pair were given first aid before being taken by ambulance to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford with suspected broken bones.

The torch went through more controversy later in the day as it visited the rapids at Lee Valley White Water Centre near Waltham Cross. British junior team canoeist Zachary Franklin had to carrying the torch as the team descended down the rapids, but the water splashing over the side of the boat extinguished he flame.

No, this doesn't mean the Olympics will be cancelled.
