Best MotoGP round of 2025 was Assen, according to paddock insiders
Paddock insiders and event stakeholders have voted the Assen round of the 2025 MotoGP championship as the best of the season.

Motul Dutch Grand Prix, Assen, has been voted as the Best Grand Prix of 2025, at a star-studded end-of-season MotoGP awards ceremony.
The gong for Assen, which is the longest-running MotoGP/Grand Prix venue on the calendar, comes thanks to teams and paddock stakeholders taking into account all angles of the event. Assen first hosted the championship in its inaugural season of 1949, although two-wheeled competition at the venue stretches back to the mid-1920s, when the track measured just under ten miles in length.

Proving that the venue is just as popular as ever, more than 200,00 fans flocked to ‘The Cathedral of Speed’ in 2025, setting a new attendance record for the Dutch circuit. Coincidentally, the 2025 race marked the 100th anniversary of competition, in any form, at the track. A specially commissioned trophy will now be presented to the Dutch GP team just before lights out for the MotoGP race in 2026 – scheduled to take place Sunday, June 28.
Speaking about the award, Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, said:
"Assen has a special place in the hearts of many MotoGP fans and it is easy to understand why. The venue as it is today is a modern circuit with incredibly high standards, creating truly amazing races, and its history speaks for itself. We’re very proud to have witnessed much of this evolution firsthand and to see Assen continue to set attendance records – welcoming more and more fans with even more activities and entertainment for them to enjoy. Best Grand Prix is a hotly contested award and we want to congratulate everyone at the TT Circuit Assen, and the whole Dutch GP team, for this achievement.”
