Clarke PRO138 29-Piece Extra Long Hex & Torx Key Set review
Tackle every motorcycle task with ease using the Clarke PRO138 29-Piece Extra Long Hex & Torx Key Set – a durable, affordable toolkit for modern and classic bikes alike.

Motorcycles have always been littered with all manner of fasteners. Although it must be said many bike manufacturers today have finally figured that Allen key (socket head cap screws) and Torx key fasteners are the best route to standardisation in this modern world.
In order not to get caught out by not having the right “key” for whatever fastener we come across, we here at Visordown opted to go for an affordable multipack of key sets. Consisting of Torx, metric and imperial-sized Allen keys. Priced at just £23.98, the Clarke PRO138 29-Piece Extra Long Hex & Torx Key Set was just the ticket.
Yes, there are more expensive/exotic key sets available, but those jewel-like keys are best suited to everyday workshops where they are used/abused constantly. Or bike owners who have loads of spare money but kept hidden from their partners.

Each key set is made from durable, chrome vanadium steel and neatly housed in their own wallet-style plastic holders, conveniently marked with the key size against each storage hole. Not only does this aid rapid selection but glaringly shows you’ve misplaced one if it’s not stashed where it should be.
The three key sets cover many fasteners found on common and frequently removed bike parts. The nine-piece long length Torx set sizes are T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T40, T45 and T50. All nine feature a hollow centre that enables fit and removal of Torx security fasteners –Torx fasteners with a central pin.
The Allen key sets look identical, but one covers metric fasteners (1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 8 and 10mm, while the other is imperial (1/16, 5/64, 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, 1/4, 5/16 and 3/in) and ideal for classic Brit/American bikes. Both Allen key sets have ball-ends on their longest section – the 60° angled faces allow easier install access when working in a tight space. Another joy of these key sets is they don’t have to stay in a toolbox: each key set can easily be stowed in a rucksack/pannier.
