Overall Review

Basically a bike that would do everything. Handle, Stop, Commute and Fly and rare thing in the 70's

Strengths

A light weight comfy rocketship that in its day would keep up with 750's and then leave them in cloud of blue smoke when the bends/corners appeared. Also if needed a commuter bike that would return over 40mpg.

Weaknesses

Not many! if used in anger I suppose this piston ported missile would drop into the low 20mpg.

Overall Review

OK I only have the 1972 RD250 the very first model with the drum brake(yes the drum brake was fitted to the first model) .It is the same as the 350 in every other respect.I have 6 other bikes in my garage all over 1000cc and when I bought the RD I thought I would ride it once a month or so.Reality is it gets used more than any other bike I own because it is great fun to ride and is the perfect round town commuter.Light and nippy and sounds great. Super reliable first or second kick starter and cheap to run.

Strengths

Light nippy and has a power band that means you actually have to use your riding skills to keep it on the boil.Dead reliable and cheap to run.

Weaknesses

All my expensive bikes are left in the garage because the RD is so much fun to ride
