The world of motorsport shows support for Sylvain Guintoli, after he confirmed his son has passed away following his cancer battle.

Sylvain Guintoli has announced heartbreaking personal news as his son has passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer.
The former WorldSBK champion, and now MotoGP pundit for TNT Sports, confirmed on August 30, 2024, that his young son had been diagnosed with cancer.
Nearly a year on and Guintoli has now shared the devastating news of his son’s passing on social media, saying: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the news of our son Luca’s passing after a year battling against cancer,” he wrote.
“Our family is devastated. Luca brought so much joy and love into our lives. We will cherish the memories we have of him forever. Rest In Peace Luca.”
Messages from people in the motorsport world have flooded in to show support for Guintoli and his family, with various riders such as Jonathan Rea and Joan Mir responding to the news.
Tech3 Racing also responded to the post on Instagram, saying: “Heartbreaking. We are so sorry for your loss and we are sending you all the love and support in this very difficult time. Rest in peace little Luca. Much love from the whole Tech3 family.”
