Scoop: End of the road for Neukirchner?
Serious spinal injuries could spell career end for unlucky German
VISORDOWN'S WSB insider has been told that Max Neukirchner's racing future is in serious doubt due to injury.
The German sustained serious leg and foot injures during a first corner multi-bike pile-up at the Monza round of the World Superbike series, which put the Alstare Suzuki man out of action for several weeks. The rider's bad luck continued when Neukirchner sustained serious spinal injuries following a high-speed crash at the Tamburello Curve at Imola later in the season.
It's now understood that doctors are seriously concerned about any future chance of injury to Neukirchner's spine. He has been advised any future injury prove extremely serious, as the injury is not healing well.
The German's is to be reassessed next week. We'll keep you posted on the result.
