Moto3: Darryn Binder heading to CIP

Darryn Binder will remain in the Moto3 World Championship next season after signing for the CIP-Green Power KTM team.

The South African - younger brother of Brad - has taken his first podium, front row and fastest race lap during the last three events with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team.

However it came too late to save his Ajo seat, which has already gone to Rookies Cup champion Can Öncu.

"I am so excited to have signed with Alain and the CIP-Green Power Team," Binder said. "After a difficult season I am looking forward to be fighting with the boys up front and giving it my all. I want to thank Alain and all my sponsors for their continued support moving into 2019."

Team owner Alain Bronec added: "Darryn is a promising rider and we are very happy that he will join us for the 2019 season. He already has some experience with a KTM bike and he is talented: we are confident that he will be a key player of the next season."

Binder, 20, will ride alongside rookie Tom Booth-Amos next season.
