IN A heartbreaking interview with the Peterborough Evening Telegraph Craig Jones's girlfriend believes he took his last breath after his hero, MotoGP star James Toseland, rushed to be by his friend's bedside at the Royal London Hospital.
Karen Atkins said: "As I opened the curtains, James came through the door, and I said, 'Your hero is here, Craig'.
"I'm sure that was the moment he went. He heard my voice and knew James and his family and best friend, Tommy Hill, were there."
Toseland had been performing at a gig with his band, when the Tech 3 Yamaha star was told of Jones' condition.
Dad Steve said: "Someone mentioned to James if he had heard what had happened to Jonesy, and he put his mic down and rushed from the gig straight to the hospital.
Craig passed away in the early hours of Monday morning with his family and friends at his bedside.
