Danny 'Magoo' Chandler dies, aged 50

AMERICAN motocross racing legend Danny 'Magoo' Chandler has died, aged 50.

Longtime friend and fan Brett Freed confirmed Wednesday that Chandler died at his home in Colfax.

Chandler rose to fame in the 1980s before a crash during the 1985 Paris Supercross left him a paralyzed.

Following the accident Chandler kept within the sport, promoting races, safety and spinal chord injury rehabilitation.

During his final months Chandler requested that he wanted a motorcycle race in his name, in place of a funeral.
