Title contender Mackenzie forced out of Brands Hatch GP BSB round

Tarran Mackenzie has been forced to withdraw from Round 4 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch following his accident during qualifying.

The McAMS Yamaha rider, who is currently third in the standings only seven points adrift of leader Scott Redding, crashed at Clearways in the final phase of qualifying yesterday and briefly knocked unconscious.

It is for this reason Mackenzie is thus not permitted to return to racing straight away meaning he will not take his ninth position on the grid.

He is the second rider to withdraw from the event after being knocked unconscious in an accident at Clearways, with Ryan Vickers suffering an idential fate with a crash in FP3.
