BSB boss issues statement amid Coronavirus misinformation

BRITISH Superbike Championship boss, Stuart Higgs, has taken to social media to put to bed some myths regarding the upcoming BSB season and how it could be affected by Coronavirus.

The post, shared today, looks to clear up some apparent misinformation that is being spread regarding the situation with tickets and what will happen should a BSB round be cancelled or rescheduled.

In it he confirms that any tickets for postponed events will be valid for the rescheduled running of the event. He also states that if the ticket holder can’t make the rescheduled date, they will receive a full refund on the ticket price.

He also goes on to confirm that if a round is cancelled in full, ticket holders will receive a full refund in this circumstance.

Higgs sights the reason for the post to clear up some “fake news” as he puts it, clearly insinuating that some parties are trying to spread misinformation or incorrect facts.

His post reads:

Attention BSB folks:

To counter some of the “fake news” that is being spread on here regarding BSB tickets at MSV circuits:

- Ts and Cs have not ‘just been upgraded’ – this is total nonsense

- In the unlikely event a BSB race meeting is postponed, all tickets will be valid for the rescheduled event. If you can’t attend the rescheduled event, you will get a refund

- If a BSB race meeting is cancelled entirely and not rescheduled, you will get a refund

I can’t be any clearer on this.

Please alert me to anyone who is deliberately posting false information!!!

Best wishes, not long now

SH

The current BSB calendar should see the season begin at Silverstone on the Nation Circuit on the 10-12 of April. The BSB pre-season has run without a hitch so far, with teams taking part in tests at circuits across Europe. It isn’t clear at this time if the first rounds of the championship will be affected by the Coronavirus outbreak in the same way that some European events have.

We’ll be sure to bring you any updates as we have them.
