QJ Motor is coming to the sports scooter sector with a re-badged Italjet
QJ Motor looks to be moving into the maxi scooter segment thanks to a bike that looks like a rebadged Italjet.

QJ Motor has teased a new bike which could see it arriving in the high-performance scooter segment. The new bike, of which there are only a handful of images, looks eerily similar to the Italjet Dragster 700, and its specs seem to be about right, too.
For those that don’t know, Italjet made big waves at EICMA a couple of years ago, with the announcement of a new super-scooter boasting a 700cc engine, manual gears, 70bhp and top-spec chassis hardware from Ohlins and Brembo. With its hyper-aggressive styling and eye-catching spec sheet, the new bike rightly hit the headlines across the world. Beneath the sporty bodywork and Italian flags of the Italjet, though, resides a lot of hardware developed and built by QJ.

The spec sheet (and design!) of the bike is all very similar to that of the Italjet, with the QJ bike arriving with a 75bhp, a kerb weight of 205kg, a top speed of around 120mph and a hand-operated clutch and manual gearbox. Indeed, the styling of the machine seems to be an almost carbon copy of the Italjet, with the angular styling and exposed engine and trellis frame immediately catching your attention.
And it doesn’t just seem like a beefy engine and a sporty look, as QJ has shown a bike wearing Brembo calipers and suspension from Marzocchi. Should the hardware remain the same when it’s launched, it could turn out to be a bike that is, for the most part, identical to the Italjet, just at a lower price.
That is, though, if it makes it to the UK or Europe. Because Italjet already has a footing in the European market, there is likely some kind of contract with QJ to protect that geographical area.
