Kawasaki’s Z900 RS is one of the big hits of 2018, and the aftermarket bolt-on parts are coming thick and fast. Some are for performance, some for style, and some, like this ‘un, are purely practical. The Ventura Bike Pack system is a great option for carrying kit on a bike, without the cost of a full-on top box install. It’s a removable metal rack that carries a range of special soft bags, and attaches to the bike with bespoke, discreet brackets.
The rack can be turned round so the weight of the bag is on the pillion seat, when you’re riding solo. That gives more stability and better weight distribution. Riding two-up? Just flip the rack round and the bag sits out back.
When not in use, the brackets can be converted to a grab rail, or you can fit a smaller sport rack.
We’ve used the Ventura kit on a few bikes over the years, and it’s solid, well-designed kit, although it’s not a cheap option. For the Z900 RS, the mounting brackets cost £125, the pack rack is £79.99 and the 51-litre Aero Spada pack (pictured) sells for £129.99. You can also fit larger bags, and even zip two bags together for massive capacity when riding solo.
