After making its debut all the way back in 2001, the Piaggio Beverly scooter is getting a new 25th anniversary edition.

Owners of Aprilia and Vespa, the Piaggio Group says the new anniversary edition “showcases a special setup that reinterprets the most distinctive features of the original model, combining them with the sporty, bold spirit of the latest generation of Beverly scooters”.

Since its debut, Piaggio has sold more than half a million units of the Beverly scooter in more than 50 countries, which now gets a dark grey colour as its base, alongside gold details.

Additionally, the new Piaggio Beverly 25th Anniversary features a special dark-tinted windscreen, and a perforated seat. The special edition model also gets a 25th anniversary badge that wears the Italian tricolore, while the wheels are finished in glossy black, with gold and grey detailing running along the rim.

It is offered across two engine sizes in some markets, including the 310 and 400. At the heart of the 400 model is the same 399cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder unit that’s housed by the 400 S, which produces 35.5bhp at 7,500rpm. Piaggio claims a maximum torque output of around 28 Ib-ft. In other countries.

Suspension is handled by a hydraulic telescopic fork up front, and a double hydraulic shock absorber at the rear, which offers adjustable preload. A 300mm front brake disc is joined by a 240mm disc at the rear, while the scooter also offers ABS. Finally, Piaggio says the fuel tank has a capacity of 12 litres.

In the UK, the new anniversary edition is only available with the 400 model, according to the Piaggio UK website. The new model is available to buy as we speak and is priced at £6,410.
