New Honda CB1000GT becomes a UK best-seller for the first time

The new Honda CB1000GT has become one of the UK’s best-selling motorcycles for the first time since its launch earlier this year.

The CB1000GT was revealed at the 2025 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, alongside the new V3R 900 E-Compressor, and the brand’s expanded E-Clutch line-up which now includes the XL750 Transalp, CB750 Hornet, NX500, CBR500R and CB500 Hornet. 

Although a sports tourer at heart, the CB1000GT also takes after its naked sibling, the CB1000 Hornet, blending Fireblade-derived engine performance with the comfort needed for longer journeys. 

Where things become particularly interesting with regards to July’s best-performing motorcycles in the UK, is the category that the CB1000GT has fallen under. The sports tourer has been positioned alongside more adventure-focused motorcycles based on the statistics provided by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA).

This also means that the CB1000GT sold more units than BMW’s R1300 GS, which has often been the top-performing adventure model in recent months. 

In fact, the R1300 GS had not been toppled by another motorcycle since February, when Honda’s NC750X sold the most units for that month. The CB1000GT topped July’s figures with a total of 141 units sold, which is also more than what the company’s popular GB350S managed in the modern classic segment (137).

Honda’s new sports tourer is currently available in three colourways; Graphite Black, Pearl Deep Mud Grey, and Grand Prix Red. It is also available in the UK for £11,999, which is £2,900 more than the 2025 CB1000 Hornet. 

In other segments, the BMW R1300 RT model was once again the best-selling tourer with 41 units sold, while the CB125F continued its domination of the naked segment with 185 units sold.
