Price revealed for the Piaggio One electric scooter, along with a new colour
The latest e-scooter on the market, the Piaggio One, is given a price point that will certainly make it appealing for the teenagers it hopes to target.

54 years 8 monthsPIAGGIO hopes that its latest scooter, the Piaggio One (that we previewed when it was first announced) will be the next best thing for young scooterists and commuters.
When covering the release news we were quick to question the potential price tag, as looking at the ‘luxury’ Elettrica, with an on the road price of around £5000, the One target market wouldn’t quite have pockets deep enough to get the one on the road.
Fortunately, it’s confirmed that the price of the Piaggio One will start from £2500, placing it in line with other electric city commuters that are popping up - and no doubt the future of short-distance commuting as we covered.
Piaggio One UK price: £2,500
Long-distance versions & higher-spec trims of the e-scooter will increase from that price point, and full tech specs are due to be announced shortly - along with the full price range.
Along with the Grigio option, a new colourway ‘Bianco’ (or White to you and I) will be available for the popular Zip-styled electric scoot, which will no doubt prove a popular option for both young & upcoming scooterists and commuters alike.
Pictures reveal that the underseat storage is capable of holding a helmet (perhaps just an open face, but still a usable underseat storage area) with the removable battery inserted. That’s quite a positive, as other electric scooters on the market will have little to no real storage space available.
Piaggio One spec
Reported by AutoCar India, it looks like the scooter will be available in three different spec levels: One, One + & One Active.
With One being the base level, it appears that it'll have a 1.2 kW motor and top speed of 27 mph (45 kph), range of 34 miles (55 km) from the 1.8 kWh battery - the smallest of three batteries.
The One + should receive the same 1.2 kW motor, but a larger 2.3 kWh battery - meaning it should rocket up to 35 mph (55 kph) and achieve 62 miles (100 km) from a single charge.
Last up, the One Active will be the top spec model, with a 2 kW motor (37 mph top speed), and 2.3 kWH battery with less total range at 52 miles (80 km).
Batteries are reportedly able to charge from empty to full in around 6 hours - so an overnight charge from a wall plug, I'd guess.
It should be available for sale in the UK in around July.
