Kawasaki's Ninja 1000SX sports tourer is set to be launched soon, with increasingly sporty looks, and a blend of performance and comfort.

Kawasaki is preparing to launch its latest version of the Ninja 1000SX sports tourer, with an anticipated release date for later this month.

The Ninja 1000SX is Kawasaki’s middling option between its ZX-10RR sports bike and Versys adventure tourer. Featuring a 1043cc inline-four cylinder engine, it packs a decent punch, but maintains decent comfort to make it viable for longer rides.

It also features a 4.3-inch TFT display and seats optimised for longer, touring rides. For this latest update to the sports tourer, the visuals have been further biassed towards the sports side, and actually there are visual comparisons that could be made to an older variant of the ZX-10R sports bike.

These comparisons are intensified after previous updates to the 1000SX which reduced the number of tailpipes from two - one on each side of the bike - to one.

The Japanese news site, Bike News, reports that Kawasaki will be launching the 2023 Ninja 1000SX on 15 July, and that in Japan it will cost 1,595,000 Yen. That translates literally to around £9,700, but of course for the bikes sold in the West there are different considerations for emissions, and the cost at the dealer is also impacted by the costs of getting the motorcycle to the dealer in the first place.

In that case, though, we are just 11 days away at time of writing (4 July 2022) from the official launch of Kawasaki’s 2023 sports tourer. When it will be launched in Europe, though, remains to be seen.
