Indian Challenger Elite louder and bolder in 2024

The Indian Challenger Elite is updated for 2024, with new paint and a new sound system that Indian is rolling out across its new bikes

2024 Indian Challenger Elite

The Indian Challenger Elite is one of the stand out bikes in the ‘bagger’ class, and is updated for 2024.

Technically speaking, the Challenger Elite is the same in 2024 compared to the past, with 121bhp, electronically adjustable Fox rear suspension, Smart Lean Technology, LED lighting including an adaptive headlight, an adjustable windscreen, rider and passenger floorboards, heated grips, saddlebag lights, saddlebag closeouts, and three selectable riding modes: ‘Tour’, ‘Standard’, and ‘Sport’.

On the surface, though, the update is clear, with a new ‘Charcoal Candy’ paint scheme for this super-exclusive bagger.

That said, the 2024 Challenger Elite is slightly less exclusive than the 2023 edition. 325 units will be built in 2024, compared to 150 last year, but for a globally available motorcycle that is still keeping the ‘rare factor’ turned up.

While the exclusivity is minorly turned down, though, the volume is turned up, as Indian introduces an update to its PowerBand Audio system. In 2024, it will use 100 Watt speaker, and on the Challenger Elite there are four fitted - two in the fairing and two in the saddlebags. The new speakers produce “higher volume, increased clarity, and more bass,” Indian says.

Indian says the updated PowerBand Audio system will be fitted to “Select Indian Motorcycle baggers and touring models,” straight from the factory in 2024, but retrospective installation is also possible on 2020-2024 model year bikes.

The rest of the Indian motorcycle range for 2024 is more or less the same, with the addition of the newly announced Indian FTR 100% Carbon.
