New Dunlop Geomax EN91 EX enduro tyre aims at superior traction

Dunlop has launched a new enduro tyre, with an 'EX' variant of its EN91 tyre, offering larger blocks and a soft compound for better traction.

Dunlop Geomax EN91 EX

Dunlop has launched a new off-road tyre, the Geomax EN91 EX, available only in a rear specification.

Designed for enduro use, the compound of the EN91 EX is particularly soft, aiming to provide optimal traction on low-grip surfaces. The block pattern is also designed to this end, with taller blocks, while the carcass is designed to help with shock absorption and improve rider feedback. Compared to the standard EN91 tyre, the EX version’s casing offers greater rigidity, allowing for those aforementioned taller blocks to greater penetrate loose surfaces.

It's also not road-legal, and is therefore intended for enduro events where road-legal tyres are not a requirement.

Produced exclusively as a rear fitment, the EN91 EX is available in 140/80-18 and “can be combined with any Geomax 80/100-21 or 90/90-21 front [tyre],” a Dunlop press release reads. Dunlop also says that the “Geomax EN91 EX is best used with the Dunlop Enduro mousse for optimum performance.”

Luca Davide Andreoni, Motorcycle Marketing Manager at Dunlop Europe, said: “With the launch of the Geomax EN91 EX, Dunlop is taking enduro tire technology to new heights. This tire is designed specifically for highly skilled enduro riders, offering unmatched grip and traction on the most challenging terrains so they can get ultimate performance in the toughest competitions.”

The Dunlop Geomax EN91 EX will be available from September 2023 in Europe. Head to the Dunlop website to find out more, and to find your nearest dealer.
