Husqvarna has announced a new 3D configurator for its FC 450 flagship dirt bike.

The Swedish brand, part of the Pierer Mobility Group, has announced its new configurator was built in collaboration with Google, and will allow prospective FC 450 riders to configure their bike just how they want it.

Configurators are nothing groundbreaking in motorcycling of course, but for Husqvarna’s motocross range this is a new addition.

The press release that Husqvarna sent announcing the introduction of its new configurator says that, in addition to the aforementioned collaboration with Google, Unreal Engine has been involved in the development of the configurator.

Fans of Milestone’s motorcycle videogames - including the MotoGP series, the Ride series, the MXGP series, the Monster Energy AMA Supercross series, and the upcoming SBK 22 World Superbike game - or videogames in general will be familiar with Unreal Engine.

On the side of Milestone, Unreal Engine has been the game engine behind its MotoGP, Ride, MXGP and Supercross videogames since MXGP 3 released in 2017.

For Husqvarna, Unreal Engine and Google helped to develop a configurator which will allow riders to “experiment with almost infinite combinations of options and Technical Accessories to fashion their own individual competition machine,” Husqvarna says.

The Husqvarna configurator will offer photorealistic renders of the brands motorcycles - starting with the FC 450 - and can place the creations of its users in “various immersive scenarios,” Husqvarna says.

Additionally, the new configurator will allow prospective customers to choose between over 150 Husqvarna Technical Accessories.
For now, the configurator is limited to just the FC 450, but Husqvarna says that other models from its motocross range are to be added in the future, “with the 2-stroke TC 250 soon to follow the 4-stroke FC 450 onto the platform.”

You can check out the configurator for yourself right now.
